n
1996, a group of dog enthusiasts came together with a
burning desire to create a forum where owners could
proudly show their pure bred dogs in a fun-filled format.
With honesty and fairness being the core objectives, the
Canine Kennel Club was born!
he
Director of the C.K.C., Mr. John Caponetto, was asked to
organize a show where owners and their dogs would
participate together. He believed many breeds, even those
as old as the 3,000 year old Neapolitan Mastiff, should be
seen in the ring along with the much younger A.K.C. breeds
and, that rare breeds deserve the same status as those
more commonly recognized. With the help of family and
friends plus knowledge of exhibiting in F.C.I, an overseas
dog show, Mr. Caponetto took charge and started the Canine
Kennel Club.
typical C.K.C. weekend program will offer a chance to
attend four shows, two shows each day. A canine Good
Citizen Testing is held the first day and a C.K.C.
Stability (Temperament) Testing the next. You will enjoy
developing a completely new attitude of showing your dog.
Raffles will also be included as a part of a delightful
weekend.
he
C.K.C., being a non-profit corporation, will award for
Best In Shows, a beautiful screened jacket with the prestigious
C.K.C. logo. Other prizes are given for each winning
class.
he
founders of the C.K.C. believe this organization is a way
of giving back to the dedicated people who make it work
--- you, the exhibitor --- and we are proud to bring you
the best possible judges, exciting and fun-filled shows,
and an all around good time!
