  1. We’ve had the Richell 60-90 pet crate for about 4 months now. In my opinion, it’s definitely much nicer looking than other wire and plastic crates. The color in the picture is definitely what you can expect (I was hoping it would be darker). It’s a lighter, mid-toned wood. It certainly doesn’t match our cherry and espresso furniture.

A lot of people say it’s a very sturdy crate. I agree with that to some extent. It comes in four separate pieces that you assemble by placing a metal locking pin in each top corner. There are glued in wood dowels in the bottom corners. The effect of the assembly is a crate that is very sturdy only when it is not being moved. If you pick the crate up to move it, the corners hinge on each other and the rectangular crate can become more of a diamond (rhombus?). If you’re aren’t careful to support the rectangle and you’re a little too cavalier in moving the crate, I can imagine the crate shifting and breaking the wooden dowels in the bottom corners. Hasn’t happened to me, but I’m sure it’s a possibility. Also, we didn’t buy the top or bottom to the crate, and I’m certain if you assemble it with those pieces it will be very sturdy.

The thing we love most about this crate is that it is the exact width of a doorway. Since we trained our small yorkie on potty pads in the tiled bathroom, we butt the crate up against the bathroom door when we leave. That way he has the crate to walk around in, and can exit into the bathroom to take care of his business.

Overall, a very nice crate and a fairly decent price [...]

Great idea to keep a puppy from chewing up your house.

Also works if you have two pets and want to give one

    some peace from the other.

Easy to assemble and well built.

Easy to assemble (or disassemble), sturdy, looks great, good price. Nice alternative to the aluminum crate look. The dogs moved right in.

This play pen has worked great for our crazy little pug. She gets into trouble when left to roam the whole house, so we can now put her in here during the day — she has enough room to move around, to have a water bowl and play with her toys. I like the open top and bottom. We have a rug on the bottom (a bath rug fits nicely) and we are able to carry her to the pen and set her inside instead of having to get her through a door. It also makes it seem much less “cage” like.

I love this product! The wooden edges make it look so much better than those wire crates! It’s big enough for me to put a 17″ bed and a water & food bowl (and there’s still space in between the bed and the bowls!) My little 3lb yorkie has a lot of space to move around. It feels a little wobbly when you pick it up so I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy it felt once we placed it down. I like that the top is open ’cause we can always lean in to pick him up or pet him (he’s too little to jump over) Oh yes! And I love the door!
